God Speaks at the Super Bowl

Joel Balin

God speaks in many ways, though it sometimes goes over our heads. As Job 33:14 says:

“For God does speak, first in one way and then in another, although we do not always perceive it.”

I wasn’t particularly eager for this year’s Super Bowl. I thought, as Tim Day points out,  “The real Super Bowl is in DC, the Patriots vs. the Stealers.” But, when the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the game and scored 40 points, I couldn’t ignore the prophetic significance surrounding this Kairos moment. The connections to America’s scriptural foundations, biblical prophecy, and God’s hand in restoring our nation were too strong to overlook.

In 1775, the seeds of America’s independence were sown in Philadelphia during the 2nd Continental Congress, setting the stage for a Revolution to found America. Now, 250 years later, in 2025, this Super Bowl victory serves as a prophetic marker—signaling a Revival and Reformation in America. Just as the Founding Fathers declared independence from British tyranny, we are now declaring independence from a globalist, leftist agenda that seeks to enslave us to godlessness, steal from us through the bureaucratic state, and rob our identity as a nation and as a people of God.

As America is being restored to God’s original intent, Philadelphia’s decisive Super Bowl victory is like the ringing of the Liberty Bell once again—proclaiming freedom, renewal, and divine direction for our nation. The inscription on Philadelphia’s Liberty Bell powerfully declares:

Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the Land unto all the inhabitants thereof. — Leviticus 25:10

The Philadelphia Eagles’ victory signals:

1. A Nation Turning Back to God

The post-game interviews reinforced the spiritual significance of this win:

  • MVP Jalen Hurts’ first words after the game were: “God is Good.”

  • Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni proclaimed: “God blessed us very much. He gave us all the talents to be able to be here. So, first and foremost, all thanks to Him. Thank God. Thank You, Jesus.”

  • Other Eagles players said, “Jesus is better than football. He’s better than anything else in life.” “We have Bible study every Wednesday—a whole bunch of guys on this team are very outspoken about their faith.” “None of this happens without our Lord Jesus, our Savior.” “He’s everything to me… God first.

These moments highlight how America is once again being oriented to recognize and honor God.

2. Philadelphia: The City of Brotherly Love and America’s Birthplace

  • Philadelphia symbolizes unity, covenant, and the founding principles of our nation.

  • This victory represents a restoration of God’s hand over America, returning us to the values that shaped us as “One Nation Under God.”

3. Eagles: A Symbol of Strength, Vision, and National Destiny

The eagle is the emblem of America and American exceptionalism, representing:

  • Strength and endurance

  • Keen vision and discernment

  • The ability to soar above obstacles

  • The Eagles’ 40-point victory points us to chapter 40 of Isaiah, the most prominent prophetic book in the Bible:

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. — Isaiah 40:31

4. The Significance of Verse 31

31 is the number of battles Israel fought to possess the Promised Land.

  • We have come out of a wilderness season but must still fight many battles to fully reclaim our nation’s spiritual inheritance.

  • Like at Jericho, the first and most prominent battle, it will be our unwavering faith, obedience, prayer, worship, and bold declarations that see righteousness restored in America.

  • This is a Kairos time to march in step with God. Then, as we “shout Jesus,” we’ll see the walls fall.

5. Eagles: God’s Protection and Deliverance

God declared to the Israelites:

“You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.” Exodus 19:4

  • The Eagles’ victory is a prophetic reminder that God is still delivering His people from oppression.

  • America is experiencing a deliverance from Egypt-like bondage—breaking free from the control of a godless world system.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory is more than just a sports win—it is a prophetic declaration of America’s restoration. Just as Philadelphia was central to our nation’s founding, it now symbolizes the revival of our identity as a people of God. The Liberty Bell rings again, proclaiming freedom, renewal, revival, and reformation. As we enter this Kairos season of victory, let’s continue to pray, worship, and stand boldly in faith—knowing that God is leading us into the Promised Land.
