Like Christmas wrapping paper, everything American business produces is covered in layers of ridiculous regulations.
The regulatory burden in the United States adds up to $4 trillion. This is a hidden tax. It is a driver of inflation. It stifles our economy and kills jobs.
We keep adding regulations to regulations. Like our onerous tax law, it is impossible to know if you are in compliance.

Regulations make everything more expensive and unnecessarily complicated.
Reagan knew. I lived through the Carter ear of destructive economic policies. Likewise, I lived under the Reagan era of economic boom. I prefer the boom.
We could see those days again if Trump’s team delivers on promises.
BKOATED GOVERNMENT
When Elon, RFK Jr., and Vivek talk about an overgrown and ineffective federal bureaucracy, they are referring to the 400+ federal agencies that form the operational backbone of the U.S. federal government.
Firing all of the government's 294 DEI employees will instantly save American taxpayers over $38 million dollars per year. 247 of those employees make over $100,000 a year.
On average, federal workers now earn 80% more in wages and benefits than other Americans. Obama did this intentionally. Plus they have taxpayer funded pensions, which they get after 20 years, which don't really exist for the Americans taxed to pay it.
Federal employees receive average salary and benefits 17% above levels paid at large private sector employers for equivalent jobs.
While Government wage growth has been modest, Obama jacked up government pay while we were all suffering the subprime market meltdown in 2008.
With some federal employees earning over $140,000 a year, Elon’s Department of Government Efficiency aims to tie pay to performance, not bureaucratic red tape.
Agencies like Veterans Affairs, where the average salary is $105K, and Energy, with a hefty $143K average, could see significant cuts for positions where pay isn’t aligned with merit.
It is even worse at the State level. According to Real EJ Antoni's recent analysis, the cost of state and local government employees is a staggering 41.7% higher than their private sector counterparts.
DOGE will not go after State level costs and regulations.
But, if DOGE cut three-letter agencies from 493 to 99 (as they plan), cut useless spending, reign in governmental overreach, and drastically gut regulations, America will win big. It will trickle down to the States.
America is 248 years old. That’s nearly 2 agencies created per year over the lifetime of the country. Most of our corrupt Congress opposes reduction in Federal spending, and DOGE.
Approximately 400 of these agencies, commissions, offices, and administrations have regulatory power! Some have their own armed policing force and courts. It is unconstitutional.

This current spending bill is bigger than most people realize. We need to recognize that we cannot afford everything that every special interest in Washington DC wants to spend money on. 25% of all US government revenue is going to interest on the debt. A few more years and it will be 40%.
52% of all Federal spending is borrowed money. Our National Debt is already over $36 Trillion, will hit $37 Trillion by year-end, and cross $40 Trillion in 2025. This is an accelerated trajectory to bankruptcy.
THE SOLUTION
By gutting our bloated government, the Budget can be balanced, and the debt paid down, our pent-up economy will be unleashed. This is what Trump and DOGE are attempting.
America could experience a golden era of prosperity.
