I tell you, look around you, and see how the fields are ripe for harvesting. John 4:35
Throughout decades of ministering, I’ve said, “I am a Pastor, not an Evangelist.” I thought it was someone else's job to catch the fish, then I would clean them. Someone else could find the lost sheep, then I could feed them.
Then I remembered that the Apostle Paul told a young pastor, Timothy, to “do the work of an evangelist, fully perform all the duties of your ministry” 2 Timothy 4:5. That scripture was amplified by hearing years of stories from my Wednesday Warriors brothers who participated in the God Mobile.
Businessmen, barbers, lawyers, carpenters, weekend missionaries, and former druggies were “doing the work of an evangelist” and seeing an amazing number of people, mostly young, accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior at fairs and festivals.
When I finally decided to give God Mobile a try, I was astounded and elated. I had no idea how easy and effective it was. After leading eleven kids to the Lord in the first couple of days, I realized something else. The father of lies had been lying to me: “Directly winning soul is for other people, not you.” “You don't have the gifting.” “God hasn’t called you to evangelism.” and that Goliath of all lies, “You will fail, disappoint God, and embarrass yourself.
”Pressing through the enemy's lies and fear-mongering has allowed me to lead scores of people to the Lord as part of the God Mobile team that led over 4,500 people to Jesus in the last two years alone.
This season is ripe for the harvest. There is a divine stirring, a renewed move of Holy Spirit, and a groundswell of revival. People are in desperate need of the physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural healing that only Jesus can bring. In this time of darkness, eyes are opening to the light of Christ. In this age of lies and deception, people are in desperate need of truth they can trust.
But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it? Romans 10:14-17 MSG
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest that He may send out workers into His harvest field.” Matthew 9:37-38
We must pray for workers to be sent and be those workers. The Lord said,
“I sought for a man among them that should stand up for me and stand in the gap.” Ezekiel 22:30 KJV and MSG
