THE RETURN OF THE GODS

For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. Psalm 97:9

Last Friday, we saw multiple blasphemous and perverted presentations on the world-wide stage in the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris. Not surprisingly, this happened less than a month after a coalition of leftists and Communists took the leadership of the French government.

The vile presentation had a scantily-clothed bearded drag queen gyrating down a runway, a Ménage à Trois' tryst between a masculine woman, a feminine man, and a “?????,” royal palace windows filled with Marie Antoinettes holding their severed heads as red streamers, smoke, and fireworks representing “blood” flew into the air, and a Drag Queen reenactment of the Last Supper with an exposed “man” next to a young girl (or was it a boy in drag?) culminating in a near-naked blue man served on a platter.

It was a vivid illustration of what Messianic Rabbi Johnathan Cahn revealed in his book, The Return of the Gods.  Cahn describes how "Christianity brought about the casting out of gods from Western civilization… upon reentering, they would seek to bring about the casting out of Christianity from Western civilization."

The Olympic ceremony put on display the Dark Trinity: The return to Western civilization of the same gods that seduced ancient Israel: Baal, Isthar, and Molech. Baal was a supreme god that people worshiped. Baal means Lord. Is it any wonder that Baal would manifest in a mockery of the Lord’s Supper?

Ishtar was known as Mrs. Baal and the goddess of sexuality, Cahn proposes that the return of Ishtar to the modern world started the sexual revolution, weakened marriage, made sex an idol, and promoted salacious movies, TV, internet, and pornography.

Ishtar also had the power to change a man into a woman and a woman into a man by altering human desire, identity, and nature itself. Is it any wonder that this Transformer would manifest in a gender-confused, lascivious, Ménage à Trois’?

Molech was the god associated with the sacrifice of human beings, especially children by their parents. This god of death manifested in a ghastly rider on a pale horse along with the severed heads of multiple Marie Antoinettes chanting to a death metal song.

When death cults, human sacrifice, and the worship of false gods proliferated in ancient Israel, the Lord raised up the Prophet Elijah to defeat the prophets of Baal in a demonstration of God’s power. Over two centuries later, a Young King of Judah, Josiah,

Desecrated the high places . . . so no one could use it to sacrifice their son or daughter in the fire to Molek . . .  desecrated the high places that were . . . built for Ashtoreth [Ishtar] the vile goddess . . .and cut down the Asherah poles. 2 Kings 23:8-14

God is raising us up in the Spirit of Elijah and Josiah to demonstrate God’s power and tear down the high places. When we see such worldwide displays of rebellion, blasphemy, death, and perversion, we need to remind ourselves that we are not powerless against it. We have power over the blatant evil and the power of the enemy that is leading the world astray, leading our children and grandchildren astray, stealing our freedoms, blaspheming Jesus, and even ruling nations. We have:

THE POWER OF THE WORD - Everything was created by the Word. God spoke and there was. God still speaks His Word through us today.

And take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph 6:17

For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword Hebrews 4:12

The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness. But the darkness has not overcome the light.  John 1:4-5 NLT, NIV

THE POWER OF OUR TESTIMONY - There is no testimony without a test, no triumph without a trial, and no conquest without a contest. When we overcome through God, we display that we are as more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who loves us.

By believing, living in faith, and being obedient in what we think, say, and do, we see the miraculous hand of God in our lives to save, heal, and deliver. When we confess Jesus as our Lord, we are saved. When we testify to the saving and healing power of His blood, others are saved.

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even in the face of death. Rev 12:11

THE POWER OF PRAYER AND WORSHIP - Our prayers have the power to heal, deliver, and move heaven and earth. They seed heaven and cause God’s kingdom to reign and rain down on the earth. They set the prisoners free and break chains of oppression.

About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly, there was such a huge earthquake that the very foundations of the prison were shaken. At once, all the doors flew open, and everyone’s chains were loosened. Acts 16:25-26

Pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:16

THE POWER OF HOLY SPIRIT - It takes goldy boldness and the faith in Jesus and the faith of Jesus to overpower the enemy. When the early church faced great threats against them and the Gospel, they prayed:

“And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. 30 Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus. After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.”  Acts 4:29-31

THE POWER OF OUR AUTHORITY OVER THE ENEMY  - Jesus tells us:

“Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.”  Luke 10:19 AMP

We have authority over all the lies of the serpent, his destruction and sickness (scorpions), and over ALL the power of the enemy (to kill, steal, and destroy), but we have to exercise our authority through declarations, commands, and confessions of our tongue in faith.
