VOTE for God's Sake!

"Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote … he is exacting one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his Country." ~ Samuel Adams

"If only we drank Samuel Adams less and listened to him more." ~ Tim Day

The most important right and privilege we have in our country is voting to save our freedom of religion. It is so important that our Founding Fathers made it the very first clause of the first article of the Bill of Rights. The Founders said it this way to keep American citizens from the abuse of the government that could keep them from worshiping freely:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

~ First Amendment - Bill of Rights - The Constitution of the United States

About 3,000 years before the First Amendment was written, God told Moses to resist Pharoah’s abuse of power.

"Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me.’ ” Exodus 8:1, 9:1 When people were required to worship under the rule of either a godless secular culture or restricted by how the religious Pharisees dictated, Jesus said, “true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23

That same Pharoah-saical spirit embedded in the tyranny of the left wants to keep us from worshipping and speaking freely. To keep those unalienable rights that were endowed to us by our Creator, The Declaration of Independence from tyranny and the Bill of Rights of the Constitution declare that we should be free to worship, free to speak the truth, and free to “not forsake the assembling of ourselves together.” (Hebrews 10:25)

To protect those rights, we must vote for God’s sake. Not only is our freedom of religion, speech, and assembly at stake, but the lives of children, our families, churches, our country, and all our other freedoms are in jeopardy as well.

When it comes to our responsibility to vote and influence others to vote, we must “be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves” (James 1:22). We’ve seen the tragic results of Christians' non-involvement in our culture as we’ve watched our schools, arts and entertainment, media, government, and even our churches drift further and further from biblical values and practices.

How can we maximize this last week before voting is over? What can we do?

1. Vote early and encourage others to vote.

Early voting is the best. It is now through Friday, Nov. 1. Find your early voting location at Swamp the Vote, GA.

2. Post and re-post. Write posts, re-post, and forward the persuasive words and memes of others on Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram, Tic-Tok, Truth Social, in email, texts, Messenger, etc.

"It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you." Phil 3:1

Forward things like posts from Tim Day’s X account and his blog about voting.

3. Share and reshare.  Let your voice be heard. Forward resources. Prepare an elevator speech - a brief, concise summary of why you are voting the way you are. It could include policies and ideas like:

  • It's about policies, not personalities. Jesus isn’t on the ballot, so there is no perfect candidate. There are only two choices. To not choose is to choose.

  • Women and children - trafficking, men in women’s sports, pushing transgenderism and LGBTQ+

  • War - We went from no wars to multiple wars in the last 4 years. We are on the verge of WWIII.

  • The Economy

  • Abortion -While we want life protected from conception, one of the biggest lies used by the Democrats is that Trump will institute a national abortion ban. CNN reported, “Trump is not 'asking for' a nationwide abortion ban. Trump has said since the spring that he wants abortion policy to be set by each individual state, not set by the federal government for the whole country.”

  • Health - The children’s and degenerative disease crisis from Big Pharma and Big Agriculture

  • Freedom of Speech

Here is a Facebook post I did listing bullet points of how I am voting, followed by longer explanations.  Here are two websites for policy comparisons:

MyFaithVotes.org - Christian Voter Guide on how to vote biblicallyMillionVoices.org - policy and opinions in the candidate's own words

4.  Don’t resign, re-sign. Put signs out. Put them in your yard and on your cars. Wear and re-ware hats and shirts with the message of who and what you are voting for.

5. Pray, pray, pray. Pray the word. Pray God’s promises. Bind and loose. Declare and command. Pray with authority. Pray in the name of Jesus. Pray in the Spirit.

"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." James 5:16

"Don’t you think that God will surely give justice to his people who plead with him day and night?  I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly." Luke 18:7-8
